Unfortunately, Windows 10 is no longer supported. If you are still using Windows 10 right now, you might want to take action before it gets worser in 2026 and beyond.

When did Windows 10 end support?

The date that Windows 10 reached end-of-life was October 14, 2025.

What are the risks of staying on Windows 10?

There are now multiple risks of using Windows 10, like:

  • Likelihood of computer malware
  • No security updates (obviously)
  • Some software may lose support very soon
  • No technical support from Microsoft
  • No bug fixes anymore
  • Microsoft 365 is no longer supported
  • Of course, you're free to upgrade to Windows 11*

  • *To run Windows 11, your PC must meet its minimum requirements. If it does not, see below.

    What can I do?

There is a lot to do when Windows 10 is out of support. Let's look at what you can do:

    1. Upgrade to Windows 11

If your computer meets Windows 11's minimum requirements, you are free to upgrade and get the latest features like snap groups, Copilot, iPhone linking, and a whole new look.

    2. Continue with Windows 10 fully offline

You can still use Windows 10, but to be very safe:

  • Keep your PC disconnected from the internet for a long time
  • Sign out of your Microsoft account
  • Do not use any online services (OneDrive, AI, etc)
  • If your PC doesn't meet the requirements for Windows 11...

There are still things to do:

As above, keep Windows 10 as an offline operating system

    See "What can I do?".

Buy or build a new PC

Of course, you can always buy a new PC with Windows 11 preinstalled, from Best Buy, Walmart, Micro Center, etc.

If you're building your own PC, then you can use PCPartPicker to make a PC part list.

    What about my games?

Your new computer will run our games fine, however, it is recommended to buy a higher-end PC with:

If you buy or build a PC with these specs, there is a higher chance you can play many games (House Flipper, Discounty, Forager, etc) smoothly with good framerate, even on medium settings.

I had a CD drive in my Windows 10 PC

New PC's no longer come with CD drives, so if you buy a new PC and you still have, e.g. old CD-ROM's of Humongous Entertainment games, you cannot play those yet until you buy a portable plug-and-play CD drive.

    Install Linux graphical distro

As always, if you're not interested in Windows 11 and/or you don't want to take the risks, then you can make the switch to a graphical Linux distribution. You can choose between:

  • Ubuntu: The most used graphical Linux distribution.
  • Pop!_OS: A fork of Ubuntu with a lot of tweaks.
  • Plain Debian: When you install Debian, you have some choices of graphical desktop environments.
  • Dual-boot Linux and Windows 10

You can also dual-boot operating systems, or even triple-boot them!

  • You can boot Windows 10 for offline games that only work in Windows.
  • You can boot Linux for everything else.
  • Donate, recycle, or sell the PC

You can donate your PC to thrift stores like Goodwill or even charity thrift stores, or sell it on eBay, Mercari, etc for some money.

But first, before donating or selling, it's best to:

  • Transfer your files to your new PC (if applicable)
  • Factory reset the PC
  • Wipe the drive and install a supported operating system, like Ubuntu
  • You can also participate in Microsoft's trade-in program to recycle your PC in a secure way.

Will our games still support Windows 10?

Yes, our games will still support Windows 10 until 2026.

After 2026, make sure you have archived old versions of our games compatible with Windows 10.
